Tier 1: Initial Review - $35 (Nonrefundable)
- This entry-level service includes a 1 hour “first impression” review with a bulleted document to get you started on pattern revisions. This tier is best for those who need quick feedback for their own self-editing process. I will carefully assess your structure and layout, paying attention to any noticeable errors, missing sections, or areas that need to be improved, and send my concerns your way.
Tier 2: Comprehensive Editing - Starting at $125-150
- This tier is best for designers who need more in-depth assistance with their written pattern. I will spend a minimum of 4-6 hours completely revising and editing your pattern from start to finish. This will include fixing layouts, clarifying row and round wording, and specifying any unclear descriptions. I will meticulously review each word and section to ensure that the pattern is clear, precise and professional-sounding. By the end of this process, you’ll receive a fully edited version that will be ready for testing.
Tier 3: Full Pattern Write-Up: Starting at $250-300
- This premium service is for those who need a written pattern created from scratch, this is best for those with little to no experience writing, or for those who just do not have the time. With your quick notes, photos, stitch counts, and some consistent communication, I will create a professional pattern ready for testing then publishing. I will design the layout, write clear instructions with all details necessary (such as size guide, materials, intro, etc) and ensure an accurate and well-organized document. I will handle almost every aspect of the writing and designing process, while allowing you to focus on the small details.

There are many common challenges that pattern writers can face, which ultimately make their designs harder to follow. Some patterns can be too wordy, with instructions that are overwhelming instead of guiding. Others struggle with cluttered layouts and lacking essential details, and eye-sore texts and photos. My job is to help you create patterns that are not only concise and informative, but also visually appealing.
Tech-editing is a collaborative effort, which can take up to a few days or week, and requires open communications between us. My goal is to enhance the clarity and flow of your pattern, NOT to remove you or your personality from it. Your creative voice is important, and your individuality needs to remain in your patterns. So please keep in mind that work is needed on both sides.
